Abstract

The myOrigins 3.0 algorithm combines global and local methods to estimate continental and regional population ancestry from autosomal DNA. This white paper describes the reference panel construction, model architecture, and validation of the third major version of FamilyTreeDNA's biogeographic ancestry tool, which integrates principal-component projection with supervised admixture inference to produce continental- and regional-scale ancestry estimates for genealogical use.
